Alex BlythI run a series of open training courses for PR professionals, as well as bespoke, on-demand courses at agencies and in-house departments.

Delegates come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some are in-house, others agency-side. Some do business PR, others do consumer. Some have been in PR for 20 years, others for 20 minutes. All of them agree that these courses offer excellent value and a brilliant insight into a vital aspect of their work.

These aren't courses where you can just turn up for a few hours, leave feeling positive, and then forget all about it at 9am the next day when you've got an important meeting to worry about. These courses provide delegates with practical advice and then all include some element of followup to ensure that the principles remain embedded for the long term.

  • It's not about theory
  • It's not about generalised principles
  • It's about practical advice that is tailored to each individual's specific needs

In 2008 I trained more than 100 PR professionals. At the end of the course I asked them to say how likely they would be to recommend the course to a colleague, 1 indicating that they wouldn't recommend it, 10 that they definitely would. The average score was 9.2.

On top of this, their employers and colleagues have commented on how the courses improved delegates' skills and inspired them to approach their work with renewed vigour. Crucially, these courses produced more capable and successful PR professionals.

"Thank you! Great refresher. Learnt some new tips and tricks. The structure of the 20 points made it easy to follow, and it was also great to look at others’ work and learn about their issues as well as my own. 10/10!"
- Victoria Morris, Head of Corporate Communications UK & Ireland, Henkel plc
